These Lovers' Eyes are inspired by 18th century miniatures called by the same name. Lovers' Eyes were often worn as brooches or pendants and featured a tiny portrait of the eye of a loved one. Sometimes this was a spouse, a child, or a secret love whose full portrait could not have been openly revealed.
